Anita Dobson Mike Pero Real EstateI definitely believe what buyers are saying – “It is really hard to buy something in today’s market”

My partner and I grew up on the Hibiscus Coast.  I went to Stanmore Bay Primary and we both went to Orewa College.  Now that our kids are at school age we thought the best place to bring them up was where we were brought up – the HIBISCUS COAST!!

Our kids are starting at Stanmore Bay School next term and we are looking to buy a home or section that is a lot closer to school and my real estate office.  Being a real estate agent doesn’t make it any easier, I tell you!!

We thought we had better get out from behind the computer scrolling Trade Me and hit the open homes.  We had quite a range of properties from do-ups to ideal family starters, to little baches with sea views.   During 1 and 2pm it was a race to get to each open home as this seems to be the most popular time to hold them (we didn’t make it to some as we ran out of time!).  Shopping for a house is EXHAUSTING!!  We saw the same faces at each home as there isn’t much to choose from.  Some buyers had been looking for months!  The most popular homes that we could see were the baches with the sea views, followed by a renovated family home in Springtime Crescent.  Two of the properties that we saw received pre-auction offers by the end of the weekend and were sold that following week.  They had only just come on the market!

Sleepy little Hibiscus Coast is becoming more and more sought after with buyers coming from Blockhouse Bay, Titirangi and beyond!  So if you have ever thought about selling, there isn’t a better time than now!   If you have any questions about the real estate market, please feel free to give me a call, text or email.
